MARY DERKACH Mary Derkach, daughter of John and Annie Zytaruk; wife of Walter Derkach; mother of son, Terry Derkach; and sister to Agnes, Nick, Sophie, Mike, Lena and Florence, passed into heaven on the morning of Saturday, September 3, 2016. Her journey was swift and arrival was certainly welcomed with open arms and angels singing, as Mary was truly an angel on earth. She cared devotedly for her mother who lived with her and Wally for several years and then selflessly cared for Wally through his lengthy physical illness. Mary was a quiet, soft spoken person who welcomed everyone into her home with a smile, open arms, food and drink and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Terry is profoundly grateful to his longtime partner Meredith and to Mary's siblings who checked in with each other on a daily basis and to all of the family and friends who kept Mary close and were there for her whenever needed. In keeping with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street. MARY DERKACH It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Mary Derkach on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the age of 80 years. In keeping with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. Terry, sorry for your loss. She is resting peacefully. Have seen your mom several times while riding through the neighborhood. Had a couple visits and chatted about the old days when we spent a lot of time together as families. My condolences to Terry and the Derkach family. Nothing but fond memory's of Mr and Mrs Derkach being great friends with my late parents. Always a smile for us boy's and the question how are we doing and what have we been up to. Eventually confermation would move over talking about their boy Terry on his life in the Big Apple.
