NORMA JEAN CRAMP (nee CHAPMAN) September 25, 1933 - September 9, 2016 It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Norma on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Victoria General Hospital, with family at her side, at the age of 82 years. Norma will be sadly missed by Ron, her loving husband of 61 years. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Rhonda (Gord) and Karen (Dean), grandsons Darryl (Ashley) and Derek (Krystle), and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Jean and father David, as well as sisters Charlotte, Joyce and Elaine, brother Bob, mother-in-law Ruby, father-in-law Charles, and brother-in-law Norman. On September 25, 1933, Norma was born in Winnipeg. Her childhood was not an easy one. In 1954, she met the love of her life, Ron, and they were married on September 17, 1955. Mum always said that our dad was the best thing that ever happened to her. She made many lasting friendships while working at Eaton's Mail Order prior to her marriage and working part-time at Perth's and Niakwa Pharmacy in later years. Norma and Ron made their life together in St. Vital. They enjoyed working on home improvement projects, spending time at their cottage, travelling and golfing. She was a very thoughtful, caring and kind person with a wonderful sense of humour. Despite growing up without the guidance of a mother, Norma had the skills to be a wonderful mum and grandma. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. We were all spoiled by her exceptional cooking, baking and countless handmade gifts lovingly sewed, knitted, embroidered and painted. The handmade clothing that Rhonda and Karen wore to school was the envy of their classmates. Norma adored her precious grandsons and was so excited about the upcoming birth of her first great-grandchild. The family would like to thank Dr. P. G. Mehta and his staff for the care provided to her over the past many years. The family also expresses sincere gratitude to all the first responders, paramedics, and medical and support staff at the Health Sciences Centre and Victoria General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. As per Norma's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Norma, Mum and Grams... thank you for a lifetime of love and for being the best wife, mother and grandmother in the world. We will miss you so very much.
