  • I truly appreciated Colin's presence in the music room because he always put forth his best effort!!! He was polite, cooperative and did well in all musical activities. The picture that I carry of Colin is from when we was much younger; I hardly recognized him when we met again just a short while ago!! • I know teachers aren't supposed to have favourites but Colin was definitely one of mine. I had the wonderful opportunity to teach him in grade 4. He was one of the sweetest, funniest, kindest kids I've ever known! That smile!! I can't describe it! He always had the cutest smirk that made your day, everyday! You raised a wonderful boy who will never ever be forgotten. He was absolutely loved by everyone who knew him. No words can ever help to ease the loss you are feeling but please know my thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Lori Gauthier (Teacher) on: Oct 20, 2016

  • Joanne, Martin and Melanie, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your families. I first met Colin when I was teaching at DTS. He was with you, Martin, and had his hands deeply in his pockets. He was checking me out as we were having a conversation, and shyly asking you a question. Then I had the opportunity to teach him in Kindergarten and soon found out what a sweet, kind, empathetic boy he was when he interacted with his classmates and me. Colin had a cute smile to pair with his quick wit and matter of a fact way of approaching tasks. It was always fun to hear his reasoning! “A special smile, a special face, In my heart, a special place.” Karen Hickman - Posted by: Karen Hickman (teacher) on: Oct 20, 2016

  • I worked in Colin's class in grade 4, and have continued to tease him every chance I got! He was one of the sweetest, funniest kids I have ever met! That little smirk would melt my heart, hence let him get away with anything! You raised an amazing young man that will be a huge loss to everyone, but his memory will always live on! No words are going to ease your pain, but I hope knowing how many people truly loved Colin, will somehow help to comfort you!
