KAREN JOAN MARIEN It is with heavy hearts that the family of Karen Joan Marien announces her passing, at the age of 65 years, on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Concordia Hospital. Karen was predeceased by her parents, Lucien and Janet Marien and sister-in-law Shelley Marien. Left to cherish and mourn Karen are her brother Irvine Marien (Irene), nephews Ryan, Matt (Jayme) and their children Jace and Callie. Karen's favourite pastimes were crocheting and reading. She was highly intelligent and was a great person to have conversations with. Her kind ways and mannerism will be surely missed. She enjoyed being around her family every chance she could. As her nieces and nephews were growing up she spent a lot of time with them. Karen was very involved with the Catholic Women's League of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Winnipeg. Karen had many friends at Columbus Manor and the family would like to thank all of them for keeping an eye on her and helping Karen when needed. Memorial service for Karen will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish located at 505 Brewster Street at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Catholic Women's League of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
