DOROTHY EVELYN HOKANSON 1926 - 2016 Peacefully on October 24, 2016, Dorothy Hokanson died at the age of 89 years. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children, Brenda (Dale), Lila (Perry), Lawrence (Liz), Glen (Yvonne), and Sherry (Dave); her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brother Bill (Frances). She was predeceased by Clifford, her husband of 52 years, and parents Charles and Anne King. Dorothy was a Mom and Gramma in the greatest sense. She was happiest when surrounded by all her family. For many years Sunday suppers at Gramma's were a family routine. She was always a farm girl at heart and loved both living in the country and working outdoors in her flower garden, as well as enjoying nature by going for long walks or riding her bike. In her later years she loved playing scrabble with her good friend Doris. She will be dearly missed by us all. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Dorothy had a very strong faith in the hope of the resurrection of the dead, and looked forward to the time when there will be no more sickness or suffering for all mankind. (Rev 21:3,4). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Arborg Kingdom Hall. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at the Arborg Personal Care Home, Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage La Prairie, and the Portage District General Hospital for their kind care. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
