ANTONIO TUMMILLO 1933 - 2016 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband, papa and nonno, Antonio Tummillo, on October 29, 2016. Antonio was predeceased by his parents, Gerardo and Angela-Maria Tummillo. Left to cherish Antonio's memory is his beloved wife of 59 years, Antonietta Tummillo (nee Di Girolamo) and Antonio's sisters, Vincenza (late Giuseppe), Nardiello and Giusepina (late Antonio), Di Girolamo. Antonio's memory is kept alive by his children, Gerardo (Sharon), Sabino, Angelina, Maria, Roberto (Michelle); and grandchildren, Amanda (Rocky) Anthony, Sabino Jr., Giordana, Daniela and Marco; Joey and Melissa, Joseph and Tianna, Massino and Milano. Great-grandchildren, Aryana, Soraya and Rocky Jr., as well as extended family. Antonio was born in Muro Lucano, Potenza, Italy, in 1933 and was raised very traditionally. Throughout Antonio's life, he was a very self-motivated man whose work ethic was beyond compare. Antonio took great pride in his large family and especially cherished his Sunday dinners with all of his family. On March 9, 1969, Papa Antonio left Italy and immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Soon to follow Papa was his son Gerardo in 1975 and Mama (Antonietta) and their remaining children on October 10, 1976. Antonio settled his family into a comfortable and prosperous life. As a self-employed ceramic tile specialist, Antonio taught his family, employees and friends all he knew. As busy as Papa was, Antonio always found time for everyone and greeted all with his amazing smile and a big "Hello." We will all miss Papa and Nonno Antonio dearly. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Seven Oaks Hospital for all their excellent care and compassion, which they provided to our father Antonio. Viewing/Condolences will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., on Wednesday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Fr. I had known Tony for over 30 years, not only as a client but as a friend. I always enjoyed dropping in at the club to share a couple of drinks, conversation and some laughs. His skills as a tile setter was second to none...I know from experience, he worked on my house many times over the years and was one of the hardest working people I knew. Rest In Peace Tony - Posted by: Joe Minuk (Long time friend) on: Dec 06, 2017

My sincere condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr.Tummillo many years ago. His warm smile was unforgettable. The family he leaves with us now is a reminder of how great it is to look back on our ancestors and their travels to Canada. A story for all Canadians to respect and never be forgotten. Another great person that made this city what it is today. He will be missed dearly. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Mark Mcalduff () on: Nov 02, 2016

I'm so sorry to hear Tony has left us. I know his family will be lost without his everlasting smile and laughter. I lost both my parents in the last year and I understand the pain they are going through. I will miss his smile and having a few laughs with him about the days gone by. Just seems like yesterday we were playing pool at a neighborhood bar in the west end. Rest easy my friend You will be miss by all. my deepest condolences Robert Rindahl - Posted by: Robert Rindahl (Friend) on: Nov 01, 2016
