MARIE LOUISE (MARY) DAENINCK (nee VAN HOORENBECK) November 11, 1924 - October 22, 2016 At the age of 91 years, Mom passed away peacefully on October 22, 2016 at Actionmarguerite Saint Boniface. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice of 69 years of marriage on October 29, 2013. Together they raised seven children and ran the family business, Bockstael and Daeninck Plastering Contractors. Mom worked at home as Dad's secretary as well as running the family household. Mom was well known and appreciated for her creative talents in sewing, craft ideas, driftwood centrepieces, and silk floral arrangements. Mom was an active participant in church and community organizations. She was a Brownie Leader, a long standing member of the Catholic Women's League and volunteered at many craft and rummage sales. Mom orchestrated the E.R.I.K. program and helped organize the foot and blood pressure clinics at Kirchhoff Gardens where they lived for their last 25 years together. She also decorated the foyer with her seasonal displays and floral arrangements. Most of all, Mom was committed to her family. She enjoyed and encouraged large family gatherings. She remembered and acknowledged the birthdays and special occasions of all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Leaving to continue her family's legacy are her children; Denis (Yvette), Lorraine (Claude Comeault), Linda (Chris Morassutti), Diane (Lou Moniz) Pat (Gordon Reagh), Leonard (Maureen), Cathy (Glen Cook), 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her niece Marguerite Goos (George, deceased) her brother-in-law Marcel Daeninck (Louise) and sister-in-law Irene Lemoine (Sam, deceased). The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Actionmarguerite Saint Boniface where Mom spent her last three years. A funeral mass celebrating Mom's life will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parish of St. Timothy, 135 John Forsyth Rd. A private family burial will follow after the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's memory to the Parish of St. Timothy, 135 John Forsyth Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2N 1R3 or Actionmarguerite Saint Boniface, 185 Despins St., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2B3.
