DURANT GEORGE August 19, 1935 - November 2, 2016 Durant George, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Born in Charlotteville, Tobago, he was the first son and fourth child of Stedman "Steddy" and Martha George. He enjoyed the first part of his childhood and young adult life with his siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. In 1967, Durant immigrated to Canada and made Winnipeg, Manitoba his home. He became a Certified Orderly and worked at the Health Sciences Centre for three years and later retired after many years of service with The Home of Instant Printing. On September 21, 1969, Durant married his fiancée, the former Rosalie St. Hilaire. Durant will be remembered for his melodious singing and his first tenor voice. He had a great love for God and would often use his voice in music ministry for the Henderson Highway Seventh-day Adventist Church. Durant will be forever loved and greatly missed by his wife Rosalie, loving daughters Michelle and Marlene, his son in-law, Pat and grandchildren, Quinn, Reiss, and Sylas. Durant was predeceased by his parents, brother Hemple, and three sisters Delris, Evelyn and Ada. He will be remembered by his siblings Elsie, Cedric and Linton as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws from both the George and St. Hilaire families. Many friends and loved ones from across the Caribbean, North America and the UK will forever cherish fond memories of him. Services for Durant George will be held on November 14, 2016 at the Henderson Highway Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1314 Henderson Hwy.
