In keeping with Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. As he was known to family and friends "Hammer" was always up to something and full of surprises. I remember while at our summer home at CWB/LOTW there was something going on in our kitchen. Sure enough, there was Hammer making eggs benny for everyone. We didn't even know he was there, he just snuck in and started cooking breakfast. Good times. Jay and I met John in 1986 when Jay was living in Oakdale Gardens. It was always a party and John being a great cook we always ate well when we got together. We traveled to the Bahamas to visit him at his condo to have a get away from Winnipeg's cold winter! Jay flew John Louise and Jacklin (who was just a few months old at the time)to our cabin in Red Lake no fishing ensued but we did party and again ate well,rack of lamb as I remember. John and Leslie attended our Daughter's wedding and they were there at our going away party in 2005 when we were moving to Mexico.They came for a visit to see us in Mexico in 2014,It was a special time and we were able to just rest,relax and visit ( Leslie & I did puzzles as John lounged in the sun).
