  • Dear Mrs. Adriana Villa & Family I am so very sorry to hear that Dr. Villa has passed to eternity. I was blessed in having this very special human being joining me and my groups in numerous trips all over the World. He was an inspiration to me and many others, with his strong will to discover the World that he loved and enjoyed so much in discovering. I will never forget the day at Guimaraes Portugal, when we were visiting the castle, where the first king of Portugal was born, as we walked into the castle, our guide gathered all the group and said " please not attempt to go up to the walls it isn't safe, it is very slippery, since it rained last night" I looked around to see if everyone was there and I couldn't see Dr. Villa, I looked up to the walls and there he was already with his camera enjoying every moment of it. Nothing would stop him, he never wanted to miss anything, all was so deeply important to him, his passion for the World was immense. I do consider myself very fortunate to have had him as part of my own life history. Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of this great gentleman. Sincerely Elda Bernardo - Posted by: Elda Bernardo (Friend) on: Nov 19, 2016

  • I have an infinite number of snapshots in my memory of the closest friend to my parents-Louis: dozens of Easter and Christmas celebrations before we all had children of our own, babysitting and getting paid $2.00 an hour which was a generous fortune back then, many memorable, adventurous times on Gold Point,-Shoal Lake, watching exotic films carefully edited on African Safaris, and then the infrequent but oh so special visits for a glass of wine and sharing our lives. I will miss you, Louis! My sympathies to dear Adriana, Romana, Bruna, Mario and extended family sprinkled here and around the globe. God bless a huge and irreplaceable part of the Wolkenstein family! - Posted by: Anne Wolkenstein (Close family friend) on: Nov 19, 2016
