THELMA HELEN HARRISON (nee SCHOFIELD) April 21, 1953 - December 13, 2016 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on December 13, 2016 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 63. Thelma was born and raised in Clandeboye, Manitoba. She married her husband Murray Harrison in 1975 and together raised five children. Thelma enjoyed volunteering at the House of Economy thrift shop in Selkirk. She loved plants and had a real green thumb for African violets. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and no matter what would put on coffee and have homemade dainties for anyone who stopped by. Thelma leaves her husband of 41 years to cherish her memory along with their five children, Bryan (Angie) Harrison, Kim Brandson, Lynn (Rob) Szalai, Kenneth Harrison and Christina (Ryan) Harrison. She also leaves ten grandchildren Mandy (Blair) Brandson, Nathan Brandson, Alex Harrison, Micheal and Sean Szalai, Savana Harrison, Peyton and Atley Lee, Khloe Waytiuk, Dominick Harrison and one great-grandson Odin Anderson. Thelma was predeceased by her parents Helen and Arther Schofield; brother Samuel Schofield; sister Evelyn Sprowl; and in-laws Mary and John Harrison. A memorial service to celebrate Thelma's life will take place on Monday, December 19 at 3:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, Manitoba. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

  • I am sorry to hear your loss of your mother. She was a wonderful lady. May you each find peace in knowing that she is in a better place. I still remember coming over to your place with my dad to get honey. Mom sends her condolences as well. - Posted by: Theresa L. Toms (Friend from Wm. S. Patterson.) on: Dec 15, 2016
