JOSEPH NELSON MCKAY Peacefully in his sleep, on December 15, 2016, Nelson passed away at the age of 75. He was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown of St. Eustache, Manitoba. He leaves to mourn, two daughters, Melanie and Allisson, two granddaughters, Ashley (Chad) and Naomi, and two great-grandchildren McKayla and Hayden. He also leaves to mourn two brothers, two sisters, many nieces, nephews, and many, many special friends. He was predeceased by his mother Bertha and his father Donald, five brothers and one sister. While Dad was a pain in the ass at times, he was a loving man and a friend to so many. Pépère loved the outdoors - gardening and hunting. He was a generous man who was always there when someone was in need. Pépère smiles down upon us now from Heaven. He will watch over us, protect us, and maybe curse at us for being dumbasses at times. We are thankful that Dad is no longer in pain. We know he is playing hockey, baseball, and laughing and breathing easy wherever he is. Thanks to Dr. Poon, Dr. Hochman, Dr. Elkin and their staff for the amazing care they provided to Dad. A celebration of Dad's life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the St. Eustache Community Centre. ** Since the time of Nelson's passing, his brother Raymond McKay has also passed.
