MYRTLE MARTHA LILLEY October 24, 1919 - December 6, 2016 It is with sadness that we announce that Myrtle Lilley passed away peacefully on December 6, 2016 at the Charleswood Care Centre, at the age of 97 years. Myrtle was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Geddie in 1968 and her second husband, John Lilley in 1989; her parents, William and Florence Warr; her sisters, Pearl, Nora, Lily and Kathleen; and her brothers, Bill, Cain and Thomas. She leaves to cherish her memory her nieces, Shirley (Larry) of Port Coquitlam, BC; Sharon (Greg) of Coquitlam, BC; Judy (Barry) of Winnipeg, MB and their families; Coralee (Terry) of Winnipeg, MB and Paul (Diane) of Golden Lake, ON, son of John Lilley. Myrtle was born in Winnipeg on October 24, 1919, and was raised on the family farm on Birds Hill Road. She often talked about her life growing up and the times she shared with her parents and siblings. She enjoyed living most of her adult life in Elmwood. Over the years, she worked at Eaton's and Redekopp Lumber. Myrtle's hobbies and interests included sewing, knitting, cross-stitch and embroidery arts and crafts. She took pride in her gardening and looked forward to summers in her yard when she could tend to her flowers and vegetables. One of her fondest memories was her trip to England with her husband, John. Myrtle was a proudly independent person who was loyal and devoted to her brothers and sisters throughout her life. She cherished their love and companionship. She was especially close to her sister, Pearl. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all those who had a part in Myrtle's care during her years spent at the Charleswood Care Centre. At Myrtle's request there will be no memorial service. Interment will take place at the Glen Eden Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made in Myrtle's memory to a charity of one's choice. E. J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Directors 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.com
