Auntie Joanne! I have many memories of you! You were a hard worker, always on the go. Always happily greeting with a smile & hug. Proud of your Ukrainian heritage. I fondly remember you in your Ukrainian embroidered shirt at many different family events. Most of all I remember staying with you the summer my parents split up when I was 13. I am happy you are at peace and no longer suffering. Love you always! Thank you Uncle Alfred for making her your princess and loving her so much. Hugs to you, Jennifer & Arthur! - Posted by: Cindy Chuckry (Niece/Goddaughter ) on: Dec 27, 2016

I first met Joanne when I worked in Swiss Alex Bakery and Joanne worked next door at Chester Chicken. A few years later I was lucky enough to get the food services contract at the Gimli Rec Centre and Joanne came to work with me. She taught me alot of things -rolling small cabbage rolls, making Pyrizhky, proper way to make Perogy dough and much more. We found we had things in common, love of our children, Husbands who treated us like gold, families who supported us in our endeavors and Cooking. We both catered things or gave help with family occassions, the last thing after her stroke she asked if my niece and I could help with the food for Jennifer and Joe's wedding. Over the past couple of years I've maybe only seen her twice, as we both had health issues, but I have lost a wonderful friend with whom I shared many experiences. I will miss her. I hope the family know that I share their sorrow. - Posted by: Isabel Peterson (friend) on: Dec 26, 2016
