Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Dear Marilyn & Brian, I am so sorry for your loss. I came accross a passages entry in the 1968-69 St. John's Year Book for a Larry Bursten. Then read of his passing in the WP. So many wonderful memories came flooding back to me ...we had so many good times and laughs growing up. God Bless, RIP my friend. Alex - Posted by: Alex Naumoff (Friend) on: Mar 15, 2020

  • Brian, Marilyn, I'm so sorry for your loss...I haven't seen Laurence in many years but have memories of him that still make me laugh. One, probably my favourite was during a house party a zillion yrs ago at my parents' home. The party had all the right components but was pretty dull, lacking something... When Laurence started dancing w/my Mom's dress form mannequin the room came to life. It was the spark that lit up the room and we laughed our heads off. My theory on death is that everyone that dies in the same year gets to hang out together [wherever that may be]...don't know how L feels about David Bowie or Princess Leia...can imagine some interesting conversations w/Castro or Zsa Zsa. I know he's going to impress and entertain them all! Laurence, take good care, quit smoking and I'll see you soon, Love, Patricia - Posted by: patricia (friend) on: Jan 02, 2017

  • He was very dedicated to his work. I remember many smiles, a man deep in thought, who would come out with extraordinary questions. I enjoyed working with Larry through the years. He will be missed. - Posted by: Penelope. (co-worker) on: Jan 01, 2017

  • My dear cousin Lawrence, I have fond memories of the times spent together. Especially when you hitched from Winnipeg and stayed all summer in the 70's. Also were visits in the 80's 90' and more. I was amazed at your abilities involving math computations and you made many of us laugh at times. May you rest in piece cousin Lawrence. - Posted by: Howard (Cousin) on: Jan 01, 2017

  • Larry was one of a kind! Always knew when Larry wanted something he would come up to you and smile and ask how you were doing. When I think about co-workers from the old workplace he was one person to remember. Rest In Peace Larry no more pain. Condolences to his family and to everyone that knew him.
