JANET PAULINE MCLEOD It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend Janet Pauline McLeod on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the age of 79 years. Janet is predeceased by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Ernie of 60 years; sons, Tim (Terry), Dan and David (Bonnie); grandchildren, Cory (Lisa), Trevor (Carie), Rhianna, Chloe, and Tessa; great-grandchildren, Celina, Isabella, Brennen, Cullen, and Wyatt. She will also be fondly remembered by her sister Adeline (Ken), niece Colleen (Rod) as well as many other extended family members and friends. JP, as her friends and family fondly called her, was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the Brooklands/Weston area of the city. She spent time working at both Style Right Clothing and Silverman's Jewellery. JP married the love of her life Ernie in 1956. In addition to Winnipeg they spent time living in Brandon and for the last 21 years in Meleb, Manitoba where they truly enjoyed the peace and tranquility that comes with country living. JP found her true calling in life as a mother to her three boys and grandmother and great-grandmother to her grandchildren. Her family was her biggest joy in life and always her first priority. She would've sacrificed anything if it meant they were happy. JP enjoyed taking drives through the countryside with her husband Ernie, picnics on the beach, being near the lake, feeding the deer and other critters that visited their acreage, watching cooking shows and keeping apprised on the lives of her family. Mom we will miss you everyday and keep you tucked safely in our hearts forever. In keeping with moms wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at Gimli Health Centre for the care and compassion they showed mom during her last days.
