Date of Passing: Dec 30, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT CHARLES STANLEY (STAN) AUDETTE SR. Robert Charles Stanley (Stan) Audette Sr., 84, passed away on December 30, 2016, in Winnipeg, Manitoba Stan is survived by his wife Beth (Elizabeth) of 58 years; son Stan Jr (Dorian); daughter Jane Dyck (Carl); son David (Jessica); daughters, Louise (Kevin) and Marie Flather (David); brothers, Moise (Marianne), Gerald (Joan) and John (Iris); sister Ann Chapman; 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Born on November 10, 1932 in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Stan had a lifelong passion for learning, evidenced by his bachelor, masters and doctorate degrees achieved in Canada and the US and a one year sabbatical from being a professor at the University of Manitoba (Pharmacy) in the United Kingdom. It was during the time of these travels that two children were born in Canada, one in the US and two in Great Britain. In the early 70s the call of the land (and the chickens) drew him away from teaching to acquire a farm south of Winnipeg. As a result of health issues in the early 1980s, the farm was sold and the move was made to an acreage south of Winnipeg. Genealogy, short term work experiences behind the counter at local pharmacies, travel across Canada, the US and Asia and lots of golf filled the next 30 plus years. He was a learned resource on multiple topics and was always eager to engage people he met on their interests and opinions. Friends and relatives are invited to share in stories, photos and condolences for the family by visiting Stan's memorial page at integritydeathcare.com Stan's life will be celebrated between 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 with a brief program beginning at 1:00 p.m. at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road. Whenever Stan walked the block he would chat and show great interest in the kids and our life. We were sad to see him move away from Brentwood and now are saddened by his passing. Our condolences to the family. Kind regards from Jack and Hanneke Greenberg-Vonderbank - Posted by: Hanneke (Neighbour ) on: Jan 03, 2017
