Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Things I fondly remember about my Uncle Gord......when he was living in Medicine Hat, writing him letters from Winnipeg. Over the years, whenever he greeted me, he always gave me the biggest bear hug, and a very sincere compliment. This happened each and every time, with the exception of our last seeing each other. (That was the first week of December, and when I entered his room, he advised to not come closer to him, so as to disallow any possible outside germs, because of his condition). But he surely wanted to! Uncle Gord was opinionated, but in a way that was very positive in sharing knowledge, advice and ideas. When I showed up in Winnipeg during summer months with my children, he would always invite us over to play his unique driveway shuffleboard. We always enjoyed that. Uncle Gord had a real exuberance for life and could he ever laugh ! Like the rest of his family, I will really miss his presence. To Arleen and his children and their extended families, I am sending hugs and prayers. Love Diane - Posted by: Diane Voss (Niece) on: Jan 14, 2017

  • Gord was one of those friends who would greet you with a question - If a woman, $100.00 dollars..... and, if a man, when are we playing golf.... He would always have a joke to tell and never a time when we came away without having laughed!!! Gord, you will be missed as we remember all those moments we got to share with you throughout our friendship. Bon Voyage our good friend. May God find you sitting on a corner bench telling jokes or giving asked wisdom to all who come. - Posted by: Susan and Ike Wardekker (Friends) on: Jan 07, 2017
