EVA MARY BOBROVICH (nee SCHNERCH) Peacefully, on January 16, 2017 at Gimli Community Health Centre, our beloved Eva went to be with her Lord. She was surrounded by love, prayers, and family. Eva was born in Berlo, Manitoba on January 22, 1930, and then resided in Arnes, Manitoba where she met the love of her life, her husband Tony Bobrovich. There they proudly raised their family of 11 children on the farm they built together. Eva was a woman filled with faith, who modelled the most important values in life - family, love, and kindness. Her generosity knew no bounds and her kitchen table was always overflowing with food for anyone who graced her door. She was passionate about spending time in her gardens and greenhouse, and cherished family brunches on Sunday after church. There were many family gatherings where she could hold and adore her grandchildren, her "precious little angels," that brought her so much joy. Eva truly enjoyed sitting and chatting with everyone at her son's Farmer's Market in Arnes, where she made many new friends. Eva was predeceased by her husband Tony, her daughter Joyce, sons-in-law Jerry Luschinski and John Sahaidak, her parents John and Mary Schnerch, and her siblings Katie, Annie, Joe, John, Adam, and Art. She leaves to mourn her children Edith, Fred (Lora), Margaret (Barry), Shirley, Mike, Dennis (Lana), Rosemary (Ron), Janie (Bob), Lucy (Wayne), Frances (Joe), and Joe (Linda). Eva also leaves to mourn 32 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and many more to follow, as well as siblings Mary, Florence, Josie and Stanley. A celebration of life will be held at St. Michael's Church, Gimli, MB on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by the service. Father Art Seaman will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the St. Benedict's Cemetery in Camp Morton. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Feed My Lambs Street Mission in Winnipeg, 535 Yale Ave West, Winnipeg, MB, R2C 1V6 (feedmylambs.ca) or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the hospitals for their care in Eva's final days. Your warm love will live on in the hearts of everyone you have touched and will be truly missed. Safe in the arms of Jesus. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

  • My earliest memories of Eva are of her in her kitchen and her garden, the places she loved most and most were welcomed into. My grandparents were neighbors and our families were intertwined from the beginning of my own life. Playing as a youngster on the Bobrovich farm was a true adventure and although their yard was already full, all were made to feel like family. I don't recall ever seeing Eva without a smile on her beautiful face. She and Tony raised a wonderful family and their legacy lives on in so many beautiful ways. Eva's hospitality was well known and her dill pickles and garden fare will be missed, we looked forward to these treats each and every summer. Thank you Eva for your friendship and kindness. Our deepest condolences to the entire family. - Posted by: pat helgason mcketchen (lifelong family friend) on: Jan 18, 2017

  • I have never known anyone quite like her , she adored children no matter who's kids they were. Never seen a person who didn't like her. She was a very strong woman with a very gentle soul and had no hatred in her. she had a great love for flowers and gardening. She will be missed greatly by so many as she touched so many lives. She definitely left a footprint on everyone she met. Love you - Posted by: Tara Sahaidak (Granddaughter in law ) on: Jan 18, 2017
