SALOME (SAM) KATHLEEN DAVID On Sunday, January 29, 2017, Sam 58, peacefully passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital, surrounded by family. She had a short but hard fought battle against cancer. Her life is remembered and celebrated by her husband Eric, children Raymond (Rosa) and Amanda (David), and siblings Brent (Romie), Margaret (Garnet), Naomi (John), Viola (Dave), and Orlando (Barb). She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Jake Wiebe. All of us who knew our dear Sam, could not help but love her. She was a loving mother, dedicated wife, fabulous sister, amazing friend, constant caregiver, lover of the arts, and valued co-worker. Thank you to the incredibly kind staff at the surgical ward in the Selkirk Hospital, who lovingly cared for our sweet Sam. There will be a celebration of Sam's life on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, with Rev. Judy Whitmore officiating. A private family interment will take place at the St. Clements Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
