PATRICIA MYRA TENNESCOE (nee HUMINICKI) 1940 - 2017 On February 6, 2017 at the Grace Hospital, after a long illness which she faced with courage and great strength of spirit, Patricia Myra Tennescoe passed away peacefully, with family by her side. She leaves to mourn her passing her brother Patrick Huminicki and wife Carol, nieces Lisa Huminicki, Danielle Huminicki (Dave Benson), Michelle Huminicki (Dave Peck), and great-nieces Paige, Rae, and Cassidy Lauer, as well as aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, and many good friends. Pat was born on November 24, 1940 in Port Arthur, Ontario to Paul and Pauline Huminicki, and grew up in Schreiber, Ontario, with her brother Patrick. She was a teacher for many years in Thunder Bay, Ontario, initially teaching kindergarten, and later working with students with special needs, and this she found especially rewarding. She retired in 1996 and moved to Winnipeg to spend more time with her family. She was a longtime member of the CWL, serving for two years on the Organization Committee. She was a volunteer with the Communion Ministry at the Seniors Home, helped out regularly with the Funeral Lunch Service, as well as participating in making crafts for the Craft Sale. Pat was always fun to be around, and her cheerfulness and enthusiasm were contagious. She enjoyed playing bridge, and was always ready for a challenge. She loved to spend time with her nieces, and was close to them all. A bright light has gone out, but she will be missed, and remembered with love and affection. The family would like to thank the staff of Brummitt-Feasby ALS House for their care in making Pat feel at home, and for their kind attention to all of her needs. They would also like to thank the Palliative Care staff at St Boniface Hospital, as well as the staff of ALS Manitoba, for their care and kindness. Funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba, 2A-1717 Dublin Avenue, Winnipeg MB R3H 0H2, in her memory. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Many happy childhood memories with aunty Pat and Lisa. ...we had many adventures together when she resided in thunder bay. My thoughts are with you all - Posted by: Barbie Oldale (niece) on: Feb 14, 2017

  • My condolences to Patrick, Carol and family. I was very blessed to get to know Pat later in life, ten years after she moved to Winnipeg. We had some serious talks and lots of laughs on our visits together. Before I moved from Winnipeg, she insisted on giving me a juicer she had. I have used the juicer every day for the last six months and now think of her every morning when I do. I miss you Pat.
