Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I first met Bernie in the late 1960's. (I called him Bishop back then). We "hit" it off immediately. He was my best friend for many years. We got into a lot of trouble back then, had some trying times with our families, but those were the best years of my life. I moved away in my 20's but we still remained in contact over the next 40 years. As others have said here, he had a great sense of humour and was very easy and comfortable to be with. I thought we would both be in our 80's and still talk of old times. Our next visit will now have to be in a different "time" and a different "place". My thoughts and prayers are with you Marie and your family, and George and Jean (Bernie's brother and sister). - Posted by: Craig Pospishell (best friend from childhood) on: Feb 15, 2017

  • My condolences to Zbigniew's family. I remember when the Dzik's family came to Canada from Poland and stayed with us at the farm and then moved to Sifton. - Posted by: Walter & Diana Dzik (Cousin) on: Feb 15, 2017

  • Bernie and his partner Joe, worked in many capacities as Contractors with the CFHA for over 16 years. During that time I got to know and respect him. He had a quick wit and a very dry sense of humour that I came to appreciate. He was a good man. I am very sad to see him go and I will miss him. - Posted by: Brad Derksen (Business & Friendship) on: Feb 14, 2017

  • sorry to hear of his passing. I remember him and the rest of his siblings and parents when they last lived in Sifton MB - Posted by: joe dzik (cousin) on: Feb 14, 2017

  • Dear Marie, Jeffrey, Christopher, Richard and Family, Please accept our sincerest condolences. We have been friends for a long time and are saddened at Bernie's passing. He was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humour. Marek remembers him as the first true friend he made here in Canada. He recalls many happy times with Bernie. We hope that Bernie's love for his family and memories of his life will help you through this sad and difficult time.
