FLORENCE TALBOT It was with deep sadness that our mother and grandmother left us on February 17, 2017. Peacefully at the Foyer Notre Dame, Mrs. Florence Talbot of St. Léon, Manitoba passed away at the age of 97 years, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves to mourn her seven children: Liliane (Roger) Dupuis, Roland (Diane), Lionel (Danielle), Yves (Gisèle), François (Doris), Ghislaine (Rhéal) Sabourin and Jean-Guy (Lise), and her 26 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also left to mourn are her four brothers and five sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Florence was predeceased by her husband Gérard Talbot in September 1990, daughter-in-law Debbie Talbot, and her brother Roland Sabourin. Daughter of Ulric and Elizabeth Sabourin, Florence was born on January 17, 1920 in St-Jean Baptiste, the eldest of 11 children. She met Gérard Talbot in May 1944 and after seeing each other eight times, were married on September 26, 1944. Florence lived her working life on a farm where she and Gérard worked hard to build a life for themselves and their children. Maman always had a "joie de vivre" and a contagious laugh that we will always remember. She had a great love for music and considered herself lucky to have been blessed with children and grandchildren who could play music. Florence loved her flowers and her garden, and took the time to make a beautiful quilt for each one of her children and grandchildren. Maman had a great outlook on life and a tremendous faith in God. She loved spending time with her brothers and sisters, and nothing would make her happier than spending time with her children and grandchildren. Florence touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Florence's life was celebrated in the St. Léon Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. It was a celebration with music by her grandchildren, a eulogy by her eldest daughter Liliane, a slide show of her life, and mass with Father Alain Guenou officiating. The family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses and staff at the Notre Dame Hospital and at the Foyer Notre Dame for their wonderful care, and friends and relatives for the many condolence wishes. FLORENCE TALBOT Entouré de l'amour de sa famille, notre maman et grand-maman Florence Talbot nous quitta le vendredi, 17 février 2017 au foyer de Notre Dame, à l'âge de 97 ans. Florence, fille d'Ulric et Elizabeth Sabourin, est née le 17 janvier 1920 à St Jean Baptiste, Manitoba. Elle était l'ainée de 11 enfants: Cécile, Rose-Aimé, Théodore, Denise, Roland, Amédée, Lucie, Lorraine, Luc, et Marc. Florence est allée à l'école de St Jean Baptiste ou elle a fait sa 7e année. D'un jeune âge, Florence aida sa mère avec les tâches de la maison et peu après avec le travail de la ferme. Le 26 septembre 1944, elle épousa Gérard Talbot de St Léon. Ensemble sur la ferme, ils travaillèrent fort pour établir une vie pour eux et leurs sept enfants. Ils déménagèrent au village de St Léon en 1975. Florence aimait jardiner, la musique, et faire des couvre-pieds pour ses enfant et petits-enfants. La vie de Florence fut célébrée le 22 février en l'église de St Léon. Ce fut une célébration avec musique par ses petits-enfants, éloge par sa fille ainée Liliane, montage diapositive de sa vie, et messe célébré par le Père Alain Guenou. On vous aime Maman, et on ne vous oubliera pas.

Funeral services will be held in the St. Léon Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Music and Eulogy at 1:30 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. with Father Alain Guenou officiating. Interment will take place after Mass at the St. Léon Parish Cemetery.
