JANICE MIDDLETON (JAN) BRAUND (nee DOWNES) June 18, 1927 - March 16, 2017 Jan, in her 90th year, passed away on March 16, surrounded by love. Survived by her sisters, Lois and Shirley (Ken); daughter Mary Jane; and grand-children, Nigel, Jennifer, Chrissy and Nicholas. Predeceased by her parents, Eadie and Frank; husband Dr. Jack Braund and son Allan. Jan will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, travelling companion and friend, Marlene Braund; her childhood and lifelong friend Sue Greer; her special friend and helper, Gail Perras; and friend Linda Palmason. Jan was an avid and passionate lover of the Arts. She served on the Art Gallery of Peterborough board. She loved getting dressed up for and attending Operas. Jan expressed her creativity in her clothing designs and her beautiful and intricate embroideries and weavings. Jan was ever young at heart and full of adventure, right to the end she was thinking that just one more cruise would be grand. Reliving her rich memories of the times spent at the cottage on Stoney Lake with Jack, Allan and Mary Jane filled Jan with joy. To know Jan was to experience and to be inspired by her strength, determination, kindness, humour, zest for life and a drive to help others. In honour of and memory of Jan, we invite you to do a kind deed for another.
