Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ALBERT SHORE September 22, 1936 - February 24, 2017 John Albert Shore passed away peacefully at the Concordia Hospital, at the age of 80. He was predeceased by his parents Montague and Lucy Shore, and grandparents Rupert and Mary Jane Foley. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Richard (Helen); best friend Shirley Adams; his nephews and cousins. Albert was born in Winnipeg and spent his early years in St. James. With the untimely passing of his father in 1944 his grandparents stepped in to care for Albert for a few years in LaRiviere, Manitoba till his mother was able to re-establish a stable home for him. At an early age it became obvious Albert was born with a severe learning disability which affected his life in numerous ways through life. However with help from his mother and many others he overcame many of life's disappointments and persevered to become a kind and gentle man with many interests. At the age of 48, upon his mother's passing, he took up residence in MBS homes founded by Maitland and Helen B. Steinkopf and spent the last 30 years with kindness and affection in these fine homes. Much appreciated are Inga, Racheal, Angele, Mia, and all of the fine folks at MBS who went above and beyond to ensure a better life for Albert. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Highway. Interment to take place at a later date.
