  • I was a member of the Wpg canoe club tennis group in the summers. I remember Dave playing in his laid-back but effective manner on the clay courts later taking a break for a cold beer and a cigarette. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and seemed to enjoy all things. Later at the squash club, I saw the same quiet person, reflective of life, doing cross word puzzles and occasionally opioning about the latest bit of news in the bunker.
