Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA ANTONIETTA PERILLO (nee ABBAMONTE) March 18, 1924 - April 17, 2017 Peacefully, with family by her side, on Monday, April 17, 2017, after a brief illness Maria Antonietta Perillo (nee Abbamonte) passed away at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio Perillo in 1992. Antonietta is survived by her children Rosa (Felice) Tummillo, Frank (Cindy) Perillo, Geraldine (Greg) Gorrell, Rocchina (Art) Baragon, Anna (Joe) Shimnowski, Carmela (Larry) McLachlan and Maria-Enza (Lucio) Vena. She is also survived by her grandchildren Maria, Claudio, Kelly, Francesco, Tony, Melissa and Elisa. Antonietta was born March 18, 1924 in Muro Lucano, Italy. She came to Canada in 1957 to join her husband in order to begin the next chapter of their lives settling in Winnipeg, MB with their children. Her first steps on Canadian soil were with many other immigrants at Pier 21 in Halifax. She dedicated her life to her family and played an important part in helping to raise her grandchildren. One of Mom's many pleasures was planting and tending to her garden as well as preparing home cooked meals for her family, her door was always open welcoming family and friends to take part in many meals, laughs and (of course) homemade wine. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital who cared for our mother. To my daughters, son and respective spouses: remember me with tears of joy and laughter. To my grandchildren: Tanti baci e abbracci. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Entombment in Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St., Winnipeg, MB.
