MARY IVENIUK 1920 - 2017 It is with sadness that we announce our Mother's passing May 3, 2017. She will be greatly missed by sons Martin (Jackie), Bill (Denise), Mark, Patrick; daughters Terry (Bob), Virginia, brother Edward, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jim; daughters Julie and Valerie; granddaughter Kim; grandson Andrew, and sister Olga. Mom was born February 29, 1920 in Kenora Ontario. The family relocated to Manitoba, and while her mother, Olga, and Ed stayed in Winnipeg, she and her father went to Buchan Manitoba where she helped him build a homesteader's log home. Eventually the family moved back to Winnipeg where mom got a job in a sewing factory. During that time, she met her soon to be husband Jim who she married in 1939. Having eight children, Mom proved to be extremely resourceful as she successfully managed our very busy and yet friendly home where our acquaintances were always welcome. Our Mother was a very intelligent, spiritual, wise, creative and compassionate soul who was totally devoted to her family. Mom knew, encouraged and loved each of us as individuals and as friends. We will always cherish and honour her memory. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering and burial at St. John's Cathedral Cemetery is planned. I met Mrs. Iveniuk through her son, Bill, many years ago. She was so nice and kind to me. I truly admired how she always took such good care of her family and made everyone feel welcome in her home. I am deeply sorry for your loss, Bill and Denise and families. - Posted by: Lynn Menzies (Knew her through Her son, Bill.) on: May 28, 2017

First my heart goes out to the whole family. I heard this from Joyce, shocked and saddened. Your mother was a wonderful aunt. She gave me very honest and good advice when my mother died. Everyone that she touched will miss her presence on earth, I am sure heaven will be enhanced having her there. Love Corinne - Posted by: Corinne Dusa (Niece) on: May 27, 2017
