Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED MCLAREN January 8, 1928 - May 21, 2017 Peacefully at the Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage la Praire, on Sunday, May 21, 2017, Mrs. Mildred McLaren of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba passed away at the age of 89 years. She was a daughter of Richard and Mary Thomas, and sister to Marjorie, Grace and Richard. Mildred came to Canada in 1952 where she met and married her husband John McLaren in 1953. She has been predeceased by both parents, her sister Marjorie, and her oldest daughter Susan (Bill). Her loss is remembered and felt by her children Michael (Joan), Albert (Lori), Douglas (Sandra), Jackson (Caroline), Cole and Sharon, as well as her eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many friends and relatives. Mildred shared her faith and acts of kindness with her husband John for many years as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She firmly believed that she would share in God's great promise given at Rev 21:1-5. She will be laid to rest, beside her husband John, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Cemetery, west of Rathwell, Manitoba. A memorial celebrating her life will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2360 Sissons Drive, Portage la Prairie, MB on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Kim Didur officiating. Mildred wanted to express a special thank you to all of the home care who assisted her at home, and the wonderful staff at Douglas Campbell Lodge. To Mildred's family, we learned today of Mildred passing away...... Our sincere sympathies to everyone in her family...... We have fond memories of spending time with Mildred while we lived near Portage la Prairie.....we will not forget her smile and her many stories of her family in Wales......loved her book.....we look forward to seeing her in the resurrection when there will be no more suffering or death.....
