Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREMI FERRATON It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rémi Ferraton on June 2, 2017, at Actionmarguerite Saint-Boniface, at the age of 86. Rémi was predeceased by his wife Imelda Ferraton. He leaves to mourn his daughters, Nathalie (Daniel Bélisle), and Lisette (Luc Vandale) and four granddaughters, Danika, Jana, Céleste and Emma. Rémi was born in Montmartre, Saskatchewan on February 24, 1931. He was always very proud of his prairie roots and of his French heritage. He enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood on the farm. He moved to Winnipeg where he met and married the love of his life, Imelda, in 1969. The newlyweds moved to Montreal, Québec where they welcomed their first born daughter, Nathalie. After their stay in Quebec, they relocated permanently to Winnipeg and welcomed their second daughter, Lisette. Remi's passion was teaching driver's education. He owned his own business "Auto-Ecole" for several years. He also worked at Saint-Boniface General Hospital in the housekeeping department. During his retirement years, Rémi enjoyed working in his garden and gave his time as a volunteer at Saint-Boniface General Hospital and Centre Taché. He was always informed of current events by reading the paper and watching the news on TV. When he started losing his vision, Rémi kept up with current affairs by listening to the radio. He loved his family very much and was very proud of his four beautiful granddaughters with whom he enjoyed spending time. "Rest in peace, dear father. You are now with your creator in your heavenly home." A special thanks to the staff of 2 DE at Actionmarguerite Saint-Boniface for their care and their commitment. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 1080 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3G 3M3.
