THELMA DESROSIERS (nee WICKLUND) It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Thelma Desrosiers on Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 87 years. Thelma was born on September 22, 1929 and raised in St. Boniface. She met Roger in summer of 1961. The two were engaged in the summer of 1973 and married on November 17, 1973 in St. Emile Church. They happily resided in Kenbur Gardens for 42 years, where Thelma's hearty laugh and stories were always heard. Thelma worked at Eaton's, as an elevator operator for many years of her adult life. She was also the Treasurer of Kenbur Club and ran the canteen at the UNF Bingo Hall. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, bingo, trips to the casino, and spending time with friends and family. She was predeceased by husband, Roger (June 22, 2016), and will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, George Wicklund and Dorothy Barker. Thelma was always very thoughtful and generous to all that were close to her heart. Thelma cared deeply for her never-ending friends that turned into family: Marcel, Danniel, and Nicole. The family would like to extend a loving thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Grace Hospital, Floor 3. In keeping with Thelma's wishes, a funeral mass celebrating her life will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Emile Roman Catholic Church, 556 St. Anne's Road, with a viewing one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Thelma may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation. "Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together."
