Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBAINMATEE DASS It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Bainmatee Dass on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the Riverview Health Centre surrounded by her family. Aunty Bain was born in Trinidad on March 23, 1937. She moved to Canada in 1965 to pursue her career in hairdressing and a better life. She accomplished both by being a highly respected hairdresser working at Bruno's Hairstyling in downtown Winnipeg. She was a pioneer, as she was a working, independent woman at a time when it was not the norm. Our aunt was a kind-hearted and generous soul who was always ready to lend a hand, cook delicious food for her numerous family and friends, and take the "little ones" for ice cream and a game of mini golf. She always said she was blessed, but she was also a blessing for all of us. She is survived by three sisters, one brother, several in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, countless cousins and close friends. Her smile and sense of humour will be missed. The family wishes to thank Dr. P.G. Mehta, the staff from WRHA Palliative Care and Riverview Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion. In keeping with Bain's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her memory be made to a charity of your choice. E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 204-253-5086

We are so saddened by Auntie's passing and thankful that we were able to see her at Easter and over FaceTime just a few days ago. She will be greatly missed. She always had a smile on her face and an "I love you" to share. Rest in Peace Auntie. - Posted by: Brigitte Scheffer and Joshua Drews () on: Jun 20, 2017

Our condolences to all family and friends. Bain will be missed. She was very caring and supportive to her family and friends and always willing to go more than the extra mile. Her sense of well being was always demonstrated in the love she had for others - Posted by: Moti & Germaine & family (Extended family) on: Jun 20, 2017
