ELIZABETH PNIOWSKY It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Elizabeth Pniowsky on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the River East Personal Care Home, at the age of 80 years. Elizabeth was born June 15, 1937 in Rosenort, MB to Margaret and Gerhard Goossen. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, husband Jerry Pniowsky, sisters Elma Rempel, Eva and Leah Goossen, and brother Willie Goossen. She is survived by her sister Carol Robson. While Elizabeth started as a nurse for the Red Cross, most of her life was spent raising her children Sandra, Jeff and Roman, and loving her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ben, Emily, Anna, Abby and Jacob. Elizabeth was a gentle soul and full of love. We cannot describe the love that she showed for her children and grandchildren, and the immense effort she took to overcome her life long illness to express that love. We are comforted knowing that her love was returned and that she knew that this was so. Our hearts break that we no longer have our sweet mother and grandmother. A private service for Elizabeth has already taken place. We encourage a donation to a charity of your choosing in lieu of flowers. E.J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Directors 204-253-5086

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • For some reason or other, I was thinking of this dear lady this morning. I'm sorry that I'm not very up to date. I checked the obituaries and found her name here and that she had passed a few years ago. My deepest condolences to the family. I had the great privilege of going to visit Mrs. Pniowsky every week when I was working for We Care. I visited her every week until I retired and moved out of the city. I SO looked forward to going to visit her every week. Many, MANY happy visits we had. I loved her dearly. We had so many things in common since she was only a few years older than I was. So many stories we shared about how things were back in the days when we were young. Many times we wished that we had known each other back in those days. Rest in peace at the feet of Jesus. One day we will meet again. - Posted by: Mary-Ann Neufeld (Friend) on: Feb 21, 2020

  • Rest peacefully, Mama P. You always welcomed me into your home and your kindness is not forgotten. You were a lovely and loving woman. Love you always, Sandy, and Mike & the girls. Condolences to Roman as well as Jeff and his family. - Posted by: Laura Nickols () on: Jul 08, 2017

  • Your Mom faithfully attended the hymn sings that I and my husband as well as another friend led at River East. She was always so happy to join in with the singing and her face always beamed as we sang the old hymns that she loved. We have no doubt that she is now with the Lord she loved. May your hearts be comforted. You will miss her greatly and so will we! - Posted by: Donna Storsley (volunteer) on: Jul 08, 2017
