GRANT SIMPSON July 26, 1959 - July 6, 2017 With sadness we announce the sudden passing of Grant Simpson on July 6, 2017. Grant was born on July 26, 1959 to Pauline and Albert Simpson, the third child in a family of six. He grew up in Norwood and attended Nordale School. Grant's pride and joy was his son Cory and his grandson Joey. Grant met his wife Emily through their mutual roles as scout leaders when they were both in school themselves. The bond they felt resumed many years later when they met by chance and rekindled their relationship. Grant was a kind, gentle soul who dearly loved family. He never missed an event and looked forward to all of the special days together. He loved to call us with good news and never missed a phone call on our birthdays. Grant had many interests and hobbies. He loved music and concerts, movies, all things wrestling, sports, and collecting. He was an avid supporter of all the local teams, with season tickets to the Goldeyes baseball team and a frequent attendee at Manitoba Moose hockey games. He knew all the latest sports news including individual players and their stats. Grant was predeceased by his father Albert. Grant will be deeply missed by his wife Emily, son Cory, grandson Joey, mother Pauline, siblings, Pam Lucenkiw (Bill), Gale (Larry), Paul (Karen), Gwen Armbruster (Grant) and Elaine (Eric), his stepchildren, David, Dan, Michelle and Cansas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 12 at 3:00 p.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street.
