GREGORY MOFFATT It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Gregory Moffatt. Greg had a courageous battle with his health over the course of the last year, but his fight ended unexpectedly Tuesday, July 11 2017, with his beloved wife and family by his side. Greg came into this world in Vancouver, BC in 1953. In 1964 he moved to Pinawa, MB with his family and eventually met his wife, Jolyne Randell in 1973. The happy couple married in 1975. Greg started his career for Manitoba Hydro in 1971. In 1976, six months after their wedding, he suffered severe electrical burns due to a work accident in Dauphin. Jolyne nursed him back to health over an arduous 12 months, cementing their loving bond. Greg and Jolyne started their family in Gilliam, MB where they stayed for 11 years. Gilliam created a lasting impact on the whole family to this day. After a short stint in Brandon, the family moved to Stonewall where he finished his 38 year career with Dorsey Converter Station, developing life long friendships all along the way. After retirement Greg and Jolyne enjoyed travelling and especially their vacation home in Tucson, Arizona. Greg was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Greg is survived by his wife Jolyne, children Kevin, Cory (Lana) and Kaitlyn, granddaughter Morgan, in-laws Jill and Jon Ambler, Dean and Connie Randell, Karen and Brian Wolowich, and nieces and nephews To know Greg was to know a man who took pride in everything he did, to his immaculate yard, his cars, and his house. His attention to detail was matched only by his strong work ethic. Greg was a strong spirit whose life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, he will always be loved and missed beyond measure. A Celebration of Life will be held at Stonewall Legion, Thursday, July 20 at 1:00 p.m. As well, please feel free to visit the online guest book at www.mosaicfunerals.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

  • We were saddened to hear of Greg's passing! Jolene, our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. We have many fine memories of Greg from our time in Gilliam. Greg was always kind and full of smiles, even when he tried to coach the Rebels ladies baseball team. I don't think he knew what he was getting into when he volunteered for that job! We remember how welcoming you both were when we arrived in the north and still laugh about Greg's epic New Year's Eve video dance party. - Posted by: Doug and Renee Rempel (Friends/coworker) on: Jul 25, 2017

  • It was with great shock and sadness that I learned of Greg's passing. I Knew Greg his sister Gail and Jolyne growing up in Pinawa. Many memories were shared. Although it has been many years since I have seen them, I still have fond memories of the "old days". I send my sincerest condolences to Jolyne and family at this very difficult time. • He was a true friend I could always depend on. His wry humour and outlook on the world never ceased to bring a smile to my face. He loved his family and took great pride in his home. I will miss him greatly and my condolences go out to his family on behalf of mine. - Posted by: Michael Alcock (Friend and neighbour) on: Jul 20, 2017

  • Greg and his sister Gail were special to my family. My Mom invited Greg & Gail to our home for lunch several times each week after their Mom passed away. We played "Marbles" after school, and our friendship began. Hanging out at the "Paper Corner", riding bikes, swimming, tobogganing, helping with homework, school dramas & parties all added to the memories. CGIT with Jolyne, walking & talking with her during a Pinawa summer, more memories. Glad I had the pleasure of meeting your children at a Pinawa Birthday celebration when Kait was very young. Jolyne, you blessed Greg so much as a wonderful & loving wife. Sincere condolences to you and your family on the loss of a loving husband & father. Love and prayers for you all, Mary-Ann - Posted by: Mary-Ann Nayler Bailie (friend and classmate from Pinawa) on: Jul 20, 2017

He had a self deprecating sense of humour and made my interactions with him rewarding and fun. His kindness will not be forgotten. - Posted by: Gord Oswald (Friend/Co-Worker) on: Jul 15, 2017
