ERIC KILBRAI July 12, 1940 - July 30, 2017 Life's Work Well Done A good and decent man has left this earth. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Heather (Dean) and Allyson (Manuel), and his grandchildren, Samuel and Johanna. Also in mourning are his twin sister Irma (Dick), big sister Herta (Julius), and big brother Dan, along with numerous extended family. Dad was a quiet and independent man, but many will remember his helpful and neighbourly handyman ways. He was predeceased by his parents, August and Lydia. As a boy, Dad came with his family from war-torn Europe. He was a hardworking and well-respected signalman with the Canadian National Railway for over 30 years. The dissolution of his marriage to his daughters' mother, Sharron, threw him off kilter, but he remained dedicated to the well-being of his daughters, a legacy that will continue to affect positively his grandchildren's futures. Later in life, Dad's cognitive abilities deteriorated. It was his turn to be helped. His family thanks the provincial home care staff who helped us keep Dad in his home for as long as possible; we thank West Park Manor for taking care of Dad for the last three months. And, thank you to the paramedics and Grace Hospital Emergency staff for easing Dad's final hours. Cremation has taken place, there will be no service, and flowers are gratefully declined. Dad had a soft spot for animals - if so inclined, a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society would be a nice gesture. Rest in Peace, Pops. We love you. E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 204-253-5086

I met your Dad only briefly Heather - but there was a distinct twinkle in his eyes when his you came into his sight. That says everything. You are with Him now Eric and there is a twinkle in His eyes when you returned. - Posted by: Karen Onofreychuk (Friend and co-worker of Heather) on: Aug 11, 2017
