CURTIS LEE ROSEBOROUGH On Monday, July 31, 2017 Curtis Lee Roseborough, born February 7, 1939, peacefully passed away. He leaves to mourn his absence his wife Heather, his son Bryan (Heather), his two daughters Shannon Wearing and Linda Marshall, and his granddaughter Kayla (Linda). Also left to mourn are his sister-in-law Elaine Roseborough, nephews Kevin and Wayne Roseborough, and his niece Rhonda MacDonald. Curt was predeceased by his parents Cliff and Eileen, and his dear brother Barry. Left to cherish memories of him are his many friends in Winnipeg, Toronto and Vancouver. They will miss his loyalty and his bonhomie. Curt truly loved his work at Hudson Bay, Marks Work Wearhouse and Palliser Furniture Co. He experienced many moves when he was with the Hudson Bay and it was through these moves across the country he established his many friends and colleagues, so that regardless of which province he was in, he could call someone for a visit. While he was with The Bay he was grateful to travel and spend time in Japan and could regale you with great stories. In 1973 he returned to Winnipeg to work for Palliser Furniture Co. and continued to travel to Asia, Europe and South America and again made friends wherever he went. Being back in Winnipeg brought him home and he was now able to have his mom over for family events and a regular Sunday dinner. Once back in the Peg he picked right up with his old playground hockey pals. They spent many a Saturday recalling their glory days while they were at University of North Dakota playing hockey and what not!! It was these friends and his furry friend Max that brought him happiness in the more difficult times of late. Whilst no longer playing himself, he was back in those cold arenas, as he never missed a hockey game or practice of his son Bryan. He was his biggest fan and supporter. Curt believed his most important job was to "always be there" for all his children. He will be missed and always remembered as a true gentleman of the old school. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at E.J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Manitoba and/or CancerCare Manitoba. E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.com

  • I knew Curt when he was Principal Buyer for TV & Portable Electronics at HBC in Toronto. He was a gentle speaker & a very pleasant man. Ross McTavish was the Central Buyer & we had Christine; Shirley; Mara & Mitzi’s in or group too. In the 80’s I left HBC for a career with Toronto Police & recently learned of Curt’s passing online. To Curt’s family...my sincere condolences (although late). He is now enjoying eternal peace. - Posted by: Cheryl (Former co-worker at HBC Buying Office Toronto) on: Jun 11, 2020

  • Having known Curt for 60+ years, I & my family are truly saddened by this news. Our friendship goes back to high school days & continued to the fall of 2015 when he last visited. A couple of phone calls followed, & then silence. His illness had taken over. As we bid good-bye that last visit, I had the feeling we would not embrace again. Curt, you were a loyal friend & will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace until we meet again. Sam - Posted by: Sam () on: Aug 05, 2017

  • Dearest Dad, Our hearts are broken, and we will miss you and love you forever. Beyond the heartache, we are grateful to have many beautiful memories of a Dad who always supported us, a Dad in who we could frequently confide and a Dad who loved us dearly. Thank you for being the best Grandad to Kyla. She "loves you to the moon and back". Rest in peace Dad and may God Bless you eternally. All our love, Shannon, Dave, Linda, Mark and Kyla - Posted by: Shannon Roseborough (Daughter) on: Aug 05, 2017
