IRENE ELIZABETH BEDRY After a long struggle with various cancers, with her family by her side, Irene left us and went to a pain free and peaceful place on August 13, 2017. Irene was born in Winnipeg on April 13, 1956 to Neil and Frieda Unger. She was predeceased by her nephew Russell McNeely, her father Neil Unger, her brother Arthur Unger, and her mother Frieda Unger. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Ron, sons, Matthew, Joshua (Jill) and Mitchell (Charity), granddaughter Jordan, and sister Elma (Curtis), along with niece Carrie (Peter), cousins, Sean and Stephanie, numerous relatives as well as many lifelong friends. Irene spent her working years in the accounting arena, always excelling in her chosen field. Tax time could be a marathon but her family never felt neglected. She and Ron loved to cook large family meals, Italian or German, and she sometimes wished they had started a restaurant. Her creative desserts were awesome and she was generous with her talents. She never let a crossword puzzle win, even at their camper while fishing. And she played a mean piano. She was passionate about helping sick children, including volunteering with Ron for 26 years at the Children's Wish Foundation near Woodlands. Irene has truly made a difference in all our lives and she will be sadly missed. To comply with Irene's wishes there will not be a formal funeral service, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, to honour Irene's memory please consider a donation to the South Interlake Chapter of the Children's Wish Foundation, P.O. Box 139, Woodlands, Manitoba R0C 3H0. A charitable tax receipt will be issued for every donation. A sincere thank you to all those who helped her along her journey. Rest in peace, Irene - We will see you on the other side. E.J.
