Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAN JACOB BOTH With sadness we announce the passing of Jan (Jon) Jacob Both on Sunday morning, August 13, 2017, at Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his family. Just three days short of his 72nd birthday, Jon succumbed to a short fight with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Yvonna; his daughters Cassandra and Amber (husband Rick); his grandchildren Austin, Brandon, Tryston and Lizanne; his brother Harry and family; also friends Francis and Barry. Born August 16, 1945 in Tromso, Norway, he immigrated with his parents to Winnipeg in 1957. He married Yvonna in December 1969 after a brief courtship. Jon's love of arts and music continued throughout his life. From menial jobs he graduated to commercial photography and graphic design from the 1980s onwards. He was a founding member of the 1960s band "The Pallbearers" and continued playing blues harp whenever possible. A generous soul, Jon was always there when needed. His presence will be sorely missed. Jon did some amazing photography work for my wife, Angie Carriere. We have been away from Winnipeg for a long time but still remember Jon as, firstly, a good friend and secondly, as a passionate and talented photographer. He will be greatly missed!
