GEORGE TOUGH It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Allan Tough, on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, beloved husband of Lucille (née Chanel), and dearly loved father of Chris and Craig (Susan) Tough. George was predeceased by his parents James and Rosalyn Tough, his brother Bill, his parents-in-law Joseph and Marie Chanel, and his brother-in-law Roger Chanel. George was born in Winnipeg on February 24, 1929, he graduated as an Electrical Engineer from the University of Manitoba in 1951. After graduating he began working for Manitoba Telephone System, and retired in 1987. He enjoyed participating in curling and bowling leagues and collecting Canadian stamps, as well as spending quality time at the lake with his family. George had a great love of music. He played the piano, loved to dance. During his illness his love of music never diminished. George had a quick wit and a dry sense of humour. He loved to make people laugh and to tease family and friends. Even to the end he would make staff at Golden Links laugh. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd. in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Timothy, 135 John Forsyth Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2N 1R3. (to provide for the needy) The family would like to thank their family and friends for their great support during this time.
