JACQUELINE (JACKIE) MITCHELL (formerly BOCKSTAEL) (née BLANCHETTE) It is with profound sorrow that the family of Jackie Mitchell (formerly Bockstael), (née Blanchette) announces her passing on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Jackie was predeceased by her spouse George Bockstael, her parents, Roger and Stella Blanchette, her brother Paul Blanchette and her sister-in-law Marthe Blanchette. Left to cherish her memory are her spouse Douglas, her children: Susan Gwyer (Murray), Brian Bockstael (Carol) and Roger Bockstael (Celia), her grandchildren: Lindsay, Alexandra, Mark, Christopher, Nicholas, Matthew, Jeremy and Joey, her sister Michelle Thompson (Cam) and their children, Jodi (Darwin) and Jamie, her brother Claude Blanchette, as well as Douglas' children, Laura Shea (Tim) and Jamie Mitchell (Trish). Jackie was a devoted wife and mother. She was an active, energetic, generous, outgoing person who courageously faced and accepted challenging health issues. Jackie will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Viewing will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Avenue followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
