Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD SUGDEN January 11, 1928 - October 8, 2017 Peacefully, with family by his side on Sunday, October 8, 2017 Ron passed away. Ron married the love of his life, Mary on December 23, 1954. Besides his wife Mary, Ron will be missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Janice and Brad Chalmers (Erin and Rich, Scott), Gwen and Todd Christensen (Jill, Jodie and Adam, Kari and Jarad, Ben), Daryl Takeuchi and Karen Sugden/Bousquet (Ryan and Alicia, Keith and Leanne, Amanda and Brett), Ron and Suzanne Sugden (Ronnie and Robyn, Roxanne, Paige, Nash) and grandson Chris Rochon. Great-grandchildren: Kate, Maielle, Lily, Adalyn, Jake, Penny, Blake and Maple. Ron was predeceased by his daughter Debbie Greenaway in February 2007. Dad worked for many years for Shell Oil and retired at an early age. In Dad's younger years he played hockey for the Minnesota North Stars. Dad loved to curl and curled with family and friends in a fun league called Rock Busters Curling Club. Dad also enjoyed shuffle board, pool, and playing hearts on his computer with people from all around the world. Dad also was involved in the community coaching his son's hockey team. As a family we spent many summers at Grand Beach and also travelled to the west coast. As the family started moving out, Mom and Dad spent many years in Hawaii, Cuba and then Phoenix, their winter home. They enjoyed Phoenix and spent the winters there until 2016. Throughout their travels they met many friends. Dad enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always the life of the party with his sense of humor. Dad never lost that sense of humor and still had it in his final days. We would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the Palliative Care Team for their care and compassion to Dad and the rest of the family. Please join us for a celebration of Dad's life on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at E.J. Coutu Funeral Chapel. E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.com
