Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE MARIE MEILLEUR (nee BOUCHARD) April 10, 1916 - October 16, 2017 It is with deep sadness that on Monday, October 16, 2017, our mom, Irene passed away peacefully in her sleep, at home, at the age of 101 years and 6 months. Irene's memory will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by her children: Emile (Fern), Leo (Gisele), Irene, Paul (Jackie), Annette, Lorraine (Sonney Pinnock), Victor (Sylvia), Joseph (Sue), Armand (Anne), Terry (Trevor Gariepy) and Claudette (Rollie Boucher); 33 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great- grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by her three sisters: Alice, Margaret and Eva (Norbert Fontaine), and two sisters-in-law, Annette and Carmella, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor in 1950; her parents, Joseph and Marie; sisters Marie, Theresa, Lucille and Jeanette; brothers Armand, Roland and Jerry; two grandchildren Jimmy and Angela Meilleur, daughter-in-law Therese Brouillette, and son-in-law Vincent Mondoux. Mom was a special and hard working woman who sacrificed everything for her family. Her deep faith, gentle wisdom and kindness helped her through many difficulties and trials throughout her life's journey. In spite of all of this, her greatest pride and joy was spending time with family, especially all of the family reunions, and her 100th birthday celebration. We are grateful for her faith, her work ethic, the love and kindness she shared to enrich our lives with those very same values. We are also privileged for having had Mom with us for this long, and will forever cherish fond memories of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. We love you Mom. You will be forever etched in our hearts. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of the Palliative Care Nurses, especially Germaine, and the respite workers who were of great help and support in her final two years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Leon on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., at the Paroisse du Précieux-Sang, 200 Kenny Street, with visitation at 12:00 p.m. and the rosary at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Paroisse du Précieux-Sang. Our deepest sympathy to Aunt Irene's family. Aunt Irene was an exceptional person. In spite of her trials in life; she always had a strong faith and moved forward with a smile and a positive attitude. We remember her joy when she was surrounded by family. I have very found memories of Memère Meilleur, especially how soft spoken she was; and her smile - it lit up her whole face.
