WILLIAM (BILL) DUNCAN MACKENZIE December 15, 1940 - October 14, 2017 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill MacKenzie, on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the age of 76 years. A long time, passionate bowler, willing to assist anyone who needed help to improve their game as a friend or a coach. Bill introduced his son to the sport of bowling at an early age. They shared many special moments together over the years, enjoying the sport and sharing a special bond. Bill never missed a practice, a game, or a chance to coach his son. As Bill's health began to diminish, Stewart bowled a 300 and dedicated it to his father, and presented him with a ring to celebrate it. Bill was inducted to the Manitoba Bowling Hall of Fame in 2016. Bill worked for Canada Packers for 30 years, when it closed he started driving a school bus. After 10 years of marriage his wife, Marie Morin, passed away. He met and remarried Wendy Sherritt in 1974; they had a son Stewart. Stewart is married to Louise Jolicoeur, together they have two children Collin (11 years) and Densie (six years), they will miss Bill, dearly. Also left to cherish Bill's memory is one sister, Elaine (George LeFloch) of St. Claude and three nephews Jean Paul (Andrea), Raymond (Lizanne) and Patrick (Angela). Our family would like to thank those who showed their kindness towards Bill in these last few years, and to those who lent support to our family and Bill. In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Bill may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. Our condolences to Stewart, Louise and family for their loss. Bill was a consummate gentleman who was a pleasure to have known. His infectious laughter and wonderful sense of humor was a blessing to those who were fortunate to have spent Friday evenings at the lanes with him. His passion for the sport of bowling and willingness to help his fellow bowlers will be fondly remembered. Your family are in our thoughts during this difficult time. - Posted by: Shaun Mulvey (Fellow Bowler) on: Oct 20, 2017
