KATHERINE LOUISE CROOK (nee JOSS) Born: March 14, 1959 Date of Passing: October 20, 2017 It is with a deep sadness in our hearts that we say goodbye to our beautiful Kathy. She went to be with Jesus in the early hours of October 20, 2017. We would like to give a big thank you to the medical teams at CancerCare, the Health Sciences Centre, St. Boniface Hospital, and Riverview Health Centre for lovingly helping us to care for her as she battled a rare form of cancer for the past number of months. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Ron, her daughters, Stephanie and Amy (Andrew), her mother Wilma, brother Bill (Chris and daughters, Cayla and Hayley), sisters, Linda (Greg and children, Jennifer and David), Diane (Richard and children, Joe, Tina and Kim), Judy (Wane), Jo-Ann (Brian and children, Paul, Michael and Bill), and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, other extended family members, friends and colleagues. Kathy was predeceased by her father James in 1991, and her brother Jim in 2005. Kathy was a pure-hearted and kind person with a quirky sense of humour, a quick wit, and a contagious laugh. She always had a twinkle in her eye and her sweet and gentle presence was always a comfort to people. She was simply a genuine person and was well known for putting the needs of others above her own. She loved life, God, church, and family, and it was evident to all those who knew her well. Her mother and siblings will sorely miss their sweet, pink-haired baby girl. Ron and Kathy were best-friends-in-love for 41 years. Since the day they met, they have been inseparable. They attended Springs Church for over 20 years together and also laboured side-by-side at Springs Christian Academy where their daughters attended school. During the last hours of Kathy's life, she slept beside Ron in Riverview Health Centre, with him holding her hand right until the very end. Her daughters hardly left her side in the last days of her life and they are so grieved to be spending the rest of their adult lives without their beloved Mom. She was more precious to her daughters than they could ever express. A celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at 725 Lagimodiere Boulevard (Springs Church). A private family interment will follow in the months to come. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
