WOJCIECH JAN GRAJEWSKI June 11, 1946 - October 18, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wojciech Jan Grajewski. Wojciech died at home with his wife by his side. Left to cherish his memory is his wife and high school sweetheart, Maria Grajewska; his eldest son Jerry, daughter-in-law Lindsay Duke and granddaughter Amelia; his youngest son Michal and daughter-in-law Katherine Foster Grajewski; his sister Dana Norman and her son Philip Norman in England; his cousin Zbyszek Zoltowski along with his wife Krystyna and their son Maciej from Warsaw, Poland. Wojciech was predeceased by his mother Maria Badowska, his father Jerzy Grajewski, his brother Adam Badowski and nephew Andrew Norman. Born and raised in Wroclaw, Poland Wojciech attended XI Liceum High School and Politechnika Wroclawska (Wroclaw University of Technology) where he received a Masters Degree in Engineering (mining). He worked at Wroclaw University of Technology for 10 years as a professor's assistant. In 1981, he left Poland with Maria, Jerry and Michal. After living in London, England for a year, they immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada. Wojciech began working at the University of Manitoba, first in the High Voltage Lab and then in the Geological Engineering Department. After 15 years at the University of Manitoba, he seized a new opportunity and joined Bison Transport. Wojciech was a loving husband and father. He was dedicated to his family and was a loyal friend to many. He loved sports, camping, fishing, playing bridge and had a love of opera. Wojciech loved to travel, especially to hot vacation destinations. His sparkling intelligence and sense of humour will not be forgotten. The family would like to thank Dr. Monika Czarnecka and Dr. Wlodziemierz Czarnecki for their special care; Russ and Janice Foster and Barbara and Peter Duke for their support; and Father Henryk Laciak for officiating. Thanks are also extended to all our friends and family from Poland, England, Canada and abroad that have reached out to our family during this difficult time. This outpouring of love and support has gone a long way in easing our grief. Memorial service will be held at E.J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Home at 680 Archibald Street on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Winnipeg Harvest. E.J. COUTU & CO.
