David was by far my favourite teacher, and has had a strong and positive impact on my life. I realize this post is a few years delayed but I had only just returned to Winnipeg and heard of his passing. I have so many great memories of Mr. Boult, he taught my grade 6 class in 2005. He had a great character, and even wheeled in the TV to watch the 2006 Olympics. I am glad we had a chance to deliver supplies together to a deserving family. He also was a great leader at summer camp, helping teach us to canoe. What always meant the most to me was though was his patience and kindness when my grandmother passed away at the beginning of the school year. It was a tough time in my life and I am lucky to have had Mr. Boult as a positive figure that year. Condololnces to his family and friends. - Posted by: Jared Miller (Former Student ) on: Jan 30, 2020

I am very saddened to hear of Mr. Boult's passing. He was my grade 5 teacher at Garden Grove and he definitely left a forever affect on my life. Whenever I look back to my early years I can hands down say my favorite teacher was definitely Mr. Boult. Grade 5 is the one grade I remember the best, so many little details are forever memories as he was such a great teacher. I recall him running a hockey card trading group over lunch and going out of his way to ensure the students always got good 'trades' from him. Some hockey teammates of mine and myself invited him to a hockey game of ours in the evening and he came out to watch. When you are a kid you don't realize how he's taking time out of his personal life to do things like that but when I look back on it as an adult now I realize how great of a person he really was. This world needs more people like Mr. Boult to keep it going round. - Posted by: Mike Hart (Student) on: Dec 13, 2017

Mr. Boult was my teacher in Grade 5 I think, at David Livingstone. He was a special teacher, one who encouraged me to write. I wrote a little book in his class and dedicated it to him! I gave it to him and I think it was one of the momentos as a teacher that he kept. Rest well Mr. Boult, thanks so much for all the lives you touched in such a positive way. - Posted by: Tannis Ross (Former Student) on: Nov 16, 2017

Mr. Boult was one of two teachers at David Livingston who were inspirations to be, who I give credit to daily. That if it wasn’t for them my life could have went very different. He introduced me to reading and to open my mind to all the opportunities that education can offer. I thank him with all my heart. - Posted by: Dawn Jolly (Former student) on: Nov 08, 2017

Most of elementary school is now a blur, but I remember Mr. Boult with clarity and much fondness. He used to read Harry Potter books to our class during some free time in the curriculum (back then only the first three books were out!) and I am forever grateful for him to introducing me to the series. He sparked an interest in reading within me. He was a great teacher, and one I've fondly remembered over all these years. - Posted by: Neal Pineda (Former Student) on: Nov 06, 2017

Dave was a very special person and teacher, he taught my boys in the 80s and 90s, they loved him as their teacher, he will be missed so much. As a EA I had a great opportunity to work with his son Scott for few years. He is also an awesome teacher I see his dad through him. Scott is just like his dad - thoughtful and kind and great with children just the right combination you want in a teacher. My heart goes out to you Scott and your family. Scott you will carry your dad's legacy through your teaching and know he will be by your side always. Hugs. love and family will get you through these hard times. I am so saddened to hear the passing of one of my favorite teachers of all time. I remember Mr. Boult took one of my grade 5 school pictures and hung it up on his wall for the longest time. I had little cousins in his class tell me that he still had it on there long after I was gone. It was a big one too. A 5 x 7 picture I believe. To this day, I wonder what he ever did with that picture. Condolences to his family. He truly was a great man, and made a huge impact in my life. I will always remember him as one of the greatest teachers, ever. - Posted by: Shirley Viray (Former Student) on: Nov 03, 2017

Mr Boult was my grade 5 teacher at Garden Grove school in 1990. It was that year that I decided that I wanted to be a middle years teacher. I also had the pleasure of attending several trips to Camp Redrock with the Garden Grove crew as a volunteer during my time in university. I now teach grade 6 and model my teaching style after Mr. Boult's... I even reference him with my students when we talk about what it means to be a mentor. I have also 'borrowed' the term, "Mount Trashmore" when describing students' disastrous desks!!! He was kind, caring, and funny, but also firm when he needed to be. As is evident from reading many of the posts above, he had an impact on countless students, friends, and family members. My sincerest condolences to Mr. Boult's family. - Posted by: Scott McMurtry (Former Student) on: Nov 03, 2017

Some people you meet in life make a very special impact that you will never forget. I met Mr. David Boult in grade 3 at Champlain School in the early 80's. I was a shy young girl in a school, had a few friends and was bullied by others. Mr. Boult aways gave me the confidence to be what ever I could be, gave me strength to voice my opinion and was always there for support. He was a fabulous teacher, friend and mentor. I was so lucky to have him as a teacher in Grade 4 as well. His support has crossed my mind many times in life, when I have felt that I needed confidence in a situation, moral support or just a memory of a kind soul. He holds a special place in my heart. May you rest in peace......you will be truly missed. - Posted by: Crystal Giesbrecht (Student) on: Nov 01, 2017

We were deeply saddened to learn of Dave’s passing and send our sincere condolences to his family. Dave (or ‘Bogie’ as he was often called back in the day) was a dear friend and Best Man at our wedding. Throughout the seventies and eighties we enjoyed many wonderful times together at parties, games nights, hockey games and ski trips just to mention a few. Sadly, we lost touch after moving to Vancouver in 1987. Although he is now gone he will always remain in our hearts and our memories. I am very sad to hear of Mr Boult's passing. When I moved to Garden Grove, I was so lucky to have him as my teacher. I am forever grateful to him for reading The Hobbit to our class which introduced me to the creative world of J.R.R. Tolkien. It sparked an interest in books that has stayed with me to this day. He was truly one of the best teachers that I have ever known. Please accept my deepest condolences. - Posted by: Kevin Convery (Former Student) on: Oct 30, 2017

Mr. Boult was one of my favourite teachers and made a lasting inmpression on me. I remember him being a big hockey fan and putting together a hockey pool at lunch hour. The only two girls that entered won it. He took us out to McDonalds for lunch to celebrate our win. That made my year. Just such a great guy. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Kira Kjear (van den Broek) (Former Student) on: Oct 29, 2017
