Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADOLFO PETRELLI March 23, 1941 - October 28, 2017 Unexpectedly, our husband, father and grandfather passed away on October 28, 2017. Dad leaves to mourn his loving wife of 46 years, Darlene; daughter Tania (Sheldon) Dent; son Dennis (Alison); grandchildren Danica and Ethan Dent; sister-in-law Amalia; nephew Franco (Julieta); great-nephew Berardino; great-niece Franca (Paul) Bueti, and his extended family in Italy. Dad was predeceased by his infant brother Rudolfo; father Franco; mother Erminia; brother Berardino; sister Maddalena; father-in-law Frank; mother-in-law Julia, and his feline companion Shadow. Dad was born in Campovalano, Teramo, Italy. Following in his brother and sister-in-law's footsteps, he came to Canada in 1962. Dad worked as a welder on many prominent Winnipeg landmarks and at Co-op Implements where he met Mom. For the last 30 years he worked as a shop foreman for Fruehauf/Trailmobile Canada until his retirement in 2001. Dad kept active in his retirement years by hanging out with friends at Piston Ring and Cindy Klassen Pool every morning, tending to his incredible garden, spending time with his grandchildren and seeking the big win with his wife at the casino. The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the First Responders and to the staff of the Seven Oaks Hospital emergency ward for their kindness and care. Special thanks to Dr. Cynthia Sawatzky and Dr. Robert Kroeker for their excellent care throughout the years. Prayers and condolences will be offered on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 8:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street Pallbearers will be Berardino Petrelli, Paul Bueti, Ryan Shymko, Kyle Lagiewka, Mario De Negri and Rob Reimer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
