OLGA BOYDA (nee NEDOHIN) It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lovingly referred to by us all as "Baba", she went to be with her Lord on October 23, 2017 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Baba will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her children, Allan, Elaine and Jim Middleton, Kelvin and Judy and Darlene Romani; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Whall, her sister-in-law Elaine Nedohin, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Fred (1967), daughter-in-law Janet (2009), six brothers and four sisters. Baba was born on May 10, 1919, in Overstone, Manitoba, to the late William and Sofia Nedohin. She was very active in the Emerson Baptist Church choir and Women's Auxiliary. For many years she was also a member of the Emerson Legion Auxiliary. Later in Winnipeg, she belonged to the Grant Park Baptist Church. One of Baba's favourite passions was to cook and bake and she especially enjoyed sharing the results of this pastime with her family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital ER Assessment Department and to the nurses of 6A South for their compassionate care. Also, to the many 5th floor staff members at the Riverside Lions Seniors Residence, our thanks to you for making it our Baba's "home". A private graveside service will be held in Spring 2018 in Emerson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Olga's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.

  • Sending the family our deepest symaphathies & sincere condolences. We have had the pleasure of knowing Olga for the past 43 years. We enjoyed many walks, talks & lots of laughter. Olga’s laugh could be heard by all - it brought great joy & happiness. You could never go to her place without sampling something she had been cooking or baking - we learn’t so much from her. Sadly will be missed, but she will forever live in our hearts. - Posted by: Elsie & Sylvia Stecy (Neighbour & Close Friends ) on: Nov 04, 2017
