Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA LAVALLEE December 21, 1922 - November 14, 2017 Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the age of 94 years, Vera, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre. She was predeceased by her husband George in 2011 and her granddaughter Kim. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Wendy (Elgin) Gromnisky and her son Bob (Diane); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; also one sister; four sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Vera was born in Horsham, Sussex, England. She served in the Royal British Navy for four years during the Second World War, met George who was in the Canadian Army and upon marriage she immigrated to Canada and took up residence in Starbuck, MB. There they farmed until 1988 when they retired to Selkirk, MB. Now they had time to do what they liked best, go fishing. Mom loved to cook and bake. She was also very handy at knitting and crocheting. Her grandchildren were always very special to her, never missing a birthday or a special occasion. Vera requested that no commemorative service be held. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held. A special thanks to the staff at the Selkirk Hospital as well as to a special friend Jerry Unrau for all the help he provided her in her later years. Condolences may be left at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

My sincere condolences to all the Lavallee family. I knew Vera and George years ago in Starbuck. Had many good giggles with them both. - Posted by: Doreen Buss () on: Nov 18, 2017
